The Studio is ideally situated for visits to numerous places in the surrounding area.

Visit beautiful towns and villages.

Ledbury, Malvern, Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth are all in easy driving distance. Then there are the black and white villages of Woebley, Pembridge, Eardisland and Dilwyn to admire.  The Studio here in Kynaston is also centrally placed for visiting Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester and their attractions. Our thriving village of Much Marcle is worth exploring too.

Do you like visiting grand houses, castles and gardens?

We have a number of National Trust properties you can visit – Berrington Hall , Brockhampton Estate, Croft Castle and Croome Park .  Choose from  Goodrich Castle, Berkeley Castle, Eastnor Castle  and Hellens Manor (which is 10 minutes away in much Much Marcle) for a lovely day out. Notable gardens include The Weir Garden (NT), Herefordshire’s own Hampton Court and Hergest Croft amongst many others.

Do you enjoy walking?

The Studio in Kynaston, which is only 10 minutes drive from Ledbury, is in the heart of superb walking country. Numerous walking leaflets are provided in The Studio covering much of Herefordshire, Malvern and the Forest of Dean. The Wye Valley Walk or the Herefordshire Trail (close to The Studio) are just two of the many walks available.  Circular routes can be walked direct from The Studio passing through local apple orchards with fine views from Marcle Ridge.  A walker’s paradise one visitor remarked.

Or do you prefer cycling?

If so then why not try the Ledbury Cider Route or the Come Cycling Ledbury for some ideas on where to go?  We have ample space in secure sheds in which to store your bikes and we can help with repairs too if that is required. If you just want to hire a bike for the day you can do that  at Ledbury Cycle Hire.  Just be prepared for a few hills to climb – always worth it for the stunning views particularly from the Malvern Hills which are nearby.

Ready to relax in the evening?     Have you ever seen a movie in a village hall with tea and biscuits during the interval? Flicks in the Sticks screen the latest films in various venues around the county  – a unique experience.  Or visit The Courtyard in Hereford or the Malvern Theatre. If you visit the Much Marcle village website there may even be a local event you could attend.  But if you fancy a night in then we have a wide range of DVDs that you can borrow. The Studio is also ideally situated for visiting events at the Three Choirs Festival which is held every year in August.

The Trumpet Inn  is near Putley or The Crown and the Butcher’s Arms at Woolhope. If you fancy a day time snack visit Trumpet Corner Tea Rooms and Art Studio. All are about 3 or 4 miles away.  In nearby Ledbury there are numerous places to eat. If you like Italian food then there is the Olive Tree or  Cafe Sez (above the dress shop Sez) which serves French cuisine during the day (patisseries a speciality) .
